Outdoor Survival and Preparedness Grade Level: 2nd - 7th In this hands-on, adventure-packed class, students will learn essential outdoor skills to help them thrive in the wilderness. Designed for kids in grades 2nd through 7th, this course will jumpstart their confidence and knowledge for outdoor adventures, teaching them to be prepared, safe, and responsible in nature. Key topics include: Leave No Trace: Understanding the importance of environmental stewardship and how to minimize our impact on the natural world. The 10 Essentials: Learning the must-have items for outdoor safety and preparedness. Map and Compass: Gaining basic navigation skills to find their way in the wild. Knots and Lashing: Mastering practical knots for shelter-building, first aid, and more. Backcountry Cooking: Discovering fun and safe ways to cook meals in the great outdoors. Shelter Building: Acquiring the skills to construct a simple and effective shelter using natural materials. Through interactive lessons, teamwork, and exciting outdoor activities, students will develop the skills and confidence to take on any adventure that comes their way!
